The tracts that make up the UConn Forest provide a variety of valuable recreational uses for the UConn community, local Mansfield, Willington, and Coventry residents, and the State of Connecticut as a whole.  Recommended activities include hiking, trail running, horseback riding, mountain biking, cross-country skiing, fishing, and wildlife viewing. Full rules and guidelines are listed below.

Highlighted Individual Tracts

Fenton Tract: The UConn Forest's Fenton Tract includes a network of 8 miles of trails, including 3 miles of the blue-blazed Nipmuck Trail, along the scenic Fenton River and traversing the slopes between the river and UConn's iconic Horsebarn Hill.

Moss Tract: The Moss Tract and adjacent Town of Willington owned Talmadge/Knowlton Properties contain 3.6 miles of blazed trails centered around a 1.9 mile section of the blue-blazed Nipmuck Trail.

North Eagleville Tract: This tract is a popular recreation site because of its close proximity to Northwood Apartments and the Town of Mansfield owned Park, Shelter Falls, which borders it on the north.

Spring Hill Tract: This tract contains a section of the blue-blazed Nipmuck Trail and and borders the Fifty Foot Preserve which is owned by the Town of Mansfield.
